esd wont stay off!

Everytime I open up galeon, esd starts listening on a port. How can I keep esd away from galeon? I don't even use this system. I'm only KDE, so arts is at home here. Mplayer may depend on it, besides removal seems to break many many deps. just want it to stay off the net.

Thanks in advance,

cg

By "stay off the net" do you mean not listen to a TCP/IP socket? If so just edit your esd.conf and set the -unix option. Also remove the -tcp option if it's there. This makes it only listen to UNIX sockets instead of TCP/IP.
