Error message when installing openssh-server


Hello everyone,

I am using kali-Linux rolling version. As I use the command "apt-get install openssh-server", I get the following error messages:

Err:1 http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling/main amd64 openssh-sftp-server amd64 1:7.1p2-2
404 Not Found
Err:2 http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling/main amd64 openssh-server amd64 1:7.1p2-2
404 Not Found
Err:3 http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling/main amd64 openssh-client amd64 1:7.1p2-2
404 Not Found
E: Failed to fetch http://http.kali.org/kali/pool/main/...p2-2_amd64.deb 404 Not Found

E: Failed to fetch http://http.kali.org/kali/pool/main/...p2-2_amd64.deb 404 Not Found

E: Failed to fetch http://http.kali.org/kali/pool/main/...p2-2_amd64.deb 404 Not Found

E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing?


Any solution how may I resolve this issue is appreciated.

I double checked to make sure if I had internet connection, and I do have a connection. Any other ideas how I may resolved this issue.

Are you sure that those URLs should have http://http. at the beginning, and not http://www.?
Error 404 (aka "page not found") typically means that you are reaching the web server, but it tells you that it does not have the page you are asking.

I was able to resolve the issue by running a apt-get update. But thanks everyone for its responses.
