Encrypted Peer to Peer Chat Program?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows of a program that allows chat direct to computers and not through servers? All this encrypted to prevent eves-dropping?

Thanks

I imagine there are multiple solutions to this one, but the first thing that comes to mind is ytalk over SSH.

That's pretty good. Just wondering if there are other options, with a few more features? Something like a slightly more modern chat client would be good so can get sound notifications.
