WineX is not really free, but very cheap. A free version is also available from CVS, you might want to check that out . Still, the price for WineX is like candy price, so... you might consider saving you the trouble to build it and getting a pre-compiled(non-free) version
Oh yeah. Just make sure that you really need them. It's not everything that runs, nor it's easy to install, set up and get applications to run under it. You are better off trying to find a Linux equivalent program that runs natively under Linux. This table of equivalents might be handy:
