I am currently using Outlook 2002 as my email program. As I slowly transfer to using Linux, I want to be able to view my old emails using a linux based email client. Towards that end, what would be best possible windows based email client that I can use that will make this transition smooth. I was thinking of using Eudora but it does not have a linux version. After some searching, I've found that it's not possible to convert files in Outlook's .pst format into formats used by other email programs without buying expensive conversion software. Using built in clients with browsers like Opera are an option, but is there a stand alone program that I can use?

Any suggestions/advice?

You can always use Mozilla email client. If you need a stand-alone client, try Thunderbird

It is very good and works well in Windoze too. In fact, I use it in windoze for my office work....
