downloaded sylpheed-claws ... nifty little program.

i would ideally like to get my gmail and hotmail collected by claws. look around and found sumthing called hotwayd, but it needs a hotmail plus account. also stumbled accross gotmail. does anyone know how i can get claws to communicate with gotmail?

as gotmail only supports hotmail, is there anything similar for gmail?

Hi, and welcome to LQ!

Ummm ... did you realise that you can actually use secure POP
and SMTP to get to your gmail? No need to jump through any hoops.

as for hotmail, I have tried both solutions.
Both works quite well and don't need a plus account.
I currently use fetchmail in daemon mode and hotwayd to get my emails from hotmail.
Hotwayd emulates a POP3 server for accessing hotmail accounts.
