Emacs/TeX question

I am trying to write a tex file using Emacs. It's fine and it syntax highlights and everything, but when I try to TeX file or buffer (C-c C-f or C-c C-b respectively), it hangs there for a while. I don't have a printer and I suspect it's trying to send it there (since this is what dvips does by default). I'm not very experienced with Emacs and would be most grateful is someone could let me know how to configure it to run LaTeX on the file (which it should be doing anyway, since it's in LaTeX mode) and get it to write it to a file as a postscript, and then open that file with gsview.
Thanks a lot,
Guy

Well, all that C-c C-f (c-B) does here is to actually compile
the latex source (one in file, the other in buffer mode), and
that's all it's meant to do as well.

What you want is C-c C-v, I guess...

Cheers,
Tink
