Question Editing database file for Postfix configuration

whilst working on ISPConfig someone posted "Hence added it at main.conf
virtual_mailbox_domains = proxy:mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_domains.cf, domainname.come"
Would someone kindly point me in the right direction as to how I can edit/configure this file and other database/config files.
Many thanks,
Kev

Since you don't tell us who this someone is, where it was posted, in what context, or even tell us what you're trying to do on what version/distro of Linux, what do you think we'll be able to tell you???

Postfix documentation:
https://www.postfix.org/BASIC_CONFIG...ME.html#syntax
https://www.postfix.org/MYSQL_README.html

One how-to guide for postfix/mysql:
https://www.howtoforge.com/virtual_u...debian_etch_p2

Lots of information on how to create virtual mailboxes, which is what is assumed here, since you don't tell us much.

it is a postfix file which looks like it needs to be edited in MySql, which I have not done before - I have just used Vi as the editor.
(TBH - I didn't want to bore people with too much detail)
Thank for the guides TBone. I shall check them out

You have provided no details AT ALL, and still don't.

You don't edit files in MySQL, and whatever guide/post you're looking at tells you it's main.conf, probably tells you where that file is. Again, you don't even tell us what this is pertaining to, or what you're trying to do.

Either answer questions, or no one will be able to help you. You are *STILL* not providing information.

And if you feel you're being 'bullied' by having someone point out your lack of details and asking you to clarify, good luck getting help from anyone. You posted a vague question with a non-sequitur ("edited in MySQL"), and asking you to clarify, post a link, give context, and explain your actual goal is 'bullying'???? Grow up.

Why can't you post the link you referenced in your first psot?? Why can't you say what you're trying to do??

Especially intimidating for those who show little to no effort. This thread sounds very familiar too...such as the one you posted just last year:
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ng-4175699396/

...about postfix and virtuals, and got the same link you were handed here, with your assurances that you'd dig into the documentation...yet you ask again.

Wrong on all counts...and it's odd that someone who was warned about personal attacks is now claiming to be 'bullied', after someone took their time to try to help you, and give you advice. Even funnier after you claim that it wasn't a network issue...just some 'anomalous routes' (bad routes sure sound like a network issue, doesn't it???)
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...6/#post6283118

Again, either ask a clear question and provide details, or (no matter where you go) no one will be able to help you. If you don't understand that, it can't be explained any simpler. Good luck.

TB0ne is telling you exactly what the rest of us think. If you want a question to be answered you have to provide enough detail for us to assist.

A generic and meaningless comment as was pointed out does not help us to help you.

As has already been noted, personal attacks are not allowed on this forum.
