Results in:

Relinking the OSS kernel modules failed

PS -- I should poiint out, this occurs on my mother's machine, which has a different kernel than the one mentioned in my sig. Thx.

"Relinking the OSS kernel modules failed" resolved

Installed the kernel headers, then ran
Code:
dpkg -i ~oss-linux-4.0-1016_i386.deb
and everything proceeded without error.

Installing the kernel headers was the key.
