Doom 3 Audio not working w/ OSS

Hey I have Fedora Core 1 and a Dell OEM version of Sound Blaster Live! 5.1. OSS works fine with the emu10k1x chipset. I listen to music, watch movies, etc, all with perfect sound. Doom 3, however chooses to not work

I get the following error:

WARNING: mmap 60224 bytes on device /dev/dsp failed: Input/output error

WARNING: sound subsystem disabled

Why?!?!?!? Please help. Is the emu10k1x chipset not support mmap-ing?
