Now, I am very happy with linux, but my machine doesn't have a lot to offer. So, I hate kde, (it runs too slow) and I use fluxbox religiously. I would like a light-weight osx-like docker applet to work in all wm's. Kxdocker is slow, but has the right idea - although it's painful to get workign in fluxbox, it really was made for kde. I have major problems with ksmoothdock, as the pictures are dead slow, and the images leave permanent trails behind them when they zoom in/out. I would like to try engage from enlightenment.org, but appearently I have to build almost their entire setup, and it's not worth it to do it, all considering that I would have to CVS the whole thing. So, does anyone have an idea on a zooming icon bar like OSX? If at all possible, maximum fluxbox compatibility would be greatly appreciated! -Bill
Look into e17. You will have to build engage from cvs, but I've used it and it's tbe best dock imitation I've ever seen (plus the enlightenment cvs makes KDE releases look unstable).
well, please 'enlighten' me as to how I would get, compile, and do all this. I am comfortable with compiling, but not CVS, and this seems like a very hard compile job. Another question - e17, thats a what, entire desktop environment? All I want in engage, if I even want that! Are there any other options? If not, I'll try the e17 environment, because it does look pretty cool; however, their site leaves alot of information to the imagination. -Bill

You only need engage and it's dependencies:
Depends On : ecore-cvs edje-cvs emotion-cvs esmart-cvs evas-cvs ewl-cvs examine-cvs
