dnsmasq dhcp-host directive doenst

hello everybody

im using dnsmasq for dns forwarding and dhcp server.
currently, i use the dhcp-host directive to attibute static ip over dhcp to an specified mac address

here's cat /etc/dnsmasq.conf output

Quote:
# dns configurations
#------------------------------------
domain=highfsb.lan
no-hosts
expand-hosts
all-servers
dns-forward-max=9000
cache-size=0

# dhcp configurations
#------------------------------------
dhcp-authoritative
dhcp-range=172.28.4.0,172.28.15.254,255.255.240.0,21d
dhcp-option=44,172.28.0.2
dhcp-option=3,172.28.0.1
dhcp-option=69,172.28.0.8
dhcp-option=4,172.28.0.2
dhcp-option=6,172.28.0.2,172.28.0.1

# static dhcp leases
#------------------------------------
dhcp-host=00:1a:70:14:a2:e6,172.28.0.2
dhcp-host=00:1d:60:95:c8:5f,172.28.0.3
dhcp-host=00:22:b0:62:33:4b,172.28.0.4
dhcp-host=00:24:8c:3d:4a:c5,172.28.0.5
dhcp-host=00:22:48:0e:4e:90,172.28.0.6
i restarted dnsmasq and nothing. all the static leases works, except for mac address 00:22:b0:62:33:4b. i got 172.28.4.178 instead of 172.28.0.4

i rebooted my box, rebooted dnsmasq w/ no the expecting results, but i remember that i used that nic (00:22:b0:62:33:4b) on my linux box a few weeks ago.

any ideas?
thx in advance

blackzero

How did you restart dnsmasq?

Which one? -- The DHCP (dnsmasq) server, or the target using the the NIC w/ MAC 00:22:b0:62:33:4b?

The server running dnsmasq, or did you restart the s/w itself?

Why do yo you mention this? Do you remember the IP address assigned to your Linux box at the time?

Sure! Well, I reinitiated the udev rules and resinstalled dnsmasq

/etc/init.d/dnsmasq stop
apt-get remove -y --purge dnsmasq
cat /dev/null > /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules

then reboot
