disabling full screen mode for games in WINE

I have successfull INSTALLED several games using WINE [10162003] but would like to know how to disable full screen mode and force games to open in an Xwindow. I suppose it isnt successful if it doesnt run correctly but they are starting and changing my resolution and freezing. I think if i can run them in an Xwindow then I can see error messages, etc.

Yup, that's why I run them all in a window

In ~/.wine/config
At the end
Add:

Code:

[AppDefaults\\<executable full name>\\x11drv]
"Desktop"="<resolution>"

Without the <>'s
For the resolution I usually use 1024x800, or 800x600

is that the full path starting at .wine/c/ ... etc or is it just the executable, .exe? I tried the latter and got the same result. probably needs more tweaking than just this but i want to make sure i am on the right track with this part of it.
