Disable Sound Notifications in Kmess?

Anyone familiar with Kmess? Is it possible to disable those silly sound notifications and possibly replace it with a flashing taskbar icon type thing? Please let me know, or suggest a new Msn Messenger replacement.

It may be possibleto turn them off in the KDE control center:
Start kcontrol
Click on Sound & Multimedia
Click on System Notifications
turn off: Play a sound
