Directory/folder mirroring utility?

Hi,

I'm running RH Linux 9.0 and want to automate mirroring of a few directories on one of my drives to my secondary drive every night using a cron job. This way if I have a drive failure my documents will n9ot be lost. I used to do this in Windows but just scrapped Windows and converted to Linux so this is new territory for me. I figured I'd ask in the forum before searching the world for a utility like this. Or maybe I could just use cp or another native Linux utility to do this? Any tips?

Thanks!

use rsync.

rsync -auv /path/to/drive/1 /path/to/drive/2

You can type 'man rsync' to learn more about the command. Just replace '/path/to/drive/1 /path/to/drive/2' with the paths to the directories you want to use.
