I am trying to run a DirectFB applicaton and I get the following errors:

DirectFBCreate: Setting desktop resolution to 2225744x-1074480784 failed
Using default resolution.
DirectFBCreate: Setting desktop format failed. Using default format.
DirectFBCreate: Setting desktop buffer mode failed. No virtual resolution support or not enough menory? Falling back to system back buffer.
DirectFBCreate: Setting system memory desktop back buffer failed ! Using front buffer only mode.

What is causing these problems?

what can your monitor do?

2) have a look into /etc/X11/xorg.conf and see what resolutions are showing up.

AFAIK no monitor is capable of your current resolution if I read it as one.
