i have a digital photo machine aiptek photo cam 4000
i am new in linux, i am working with kino but i canot get
the capture of my camera. i cannot find drivers or plugins to linux
i have my camera but i can uset
do you have any idea
Plug it in, list devices with "lsusb" and if it doesn't show look in your syslog (/var/log/messages usually) for any USB messages. Find the vendor/device ID, check the LQ HCL and if it doesn't show head over to http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/searc...pattern=aiptek and search the database. If the chipset is supported there is a driver. If it's the "Aiptek Pocket Cam 4000" http://www.qbik.ch/usb/devices/showdev.php?id=2928 then you're SOL.
thank you for the help
i discover the id 08 ca :2028
then i whent to the site that you gave me
there are no drivers for my cam but i saw
a few lines of commands
what i do whit that lines?
what is SOL ?
there are any solution to me
P: Vendor=08ca ProdID=2028 Rev= 1.00
So it is the Aiptek Pocket Cam 4000. qbik.ch shows that for the webcam part there is no driver available now. I don't know if its Compact Flash can be seen over USB as USB Mass Storage device but if it can't then you can at least take it out and use a card reader.
