Question difference between red hat 6.x and 7.x

I'm installing redhat 6.x on about 20 P133 machines at work (school, I'm a computer teacher). It seems that the hardware requirements for 6.x are much more modest than 7.x. I am curious, however, on what I will be missing. I assume that 7.x uses a more recent kernel, but what are the primary advantages of 7.x?

difrences between redhat 6.x and 7.x

it is true that redhat 7 needs a more powerfull computer than 6.
difrences are:
6.x use a 2.2 kernel and 7.x a 2.4 kernel
Gnome and Kde are older versions in 6.X than in 7.x
also there are a lot of configurations files diferent such as in
6.x use conf.modules and 7.x modules.conf
the multimedia support is better in 7.x than in 6.x
7.1 and 7.2 configure a firewall in the instalation process 6.x don't .
6.x use inetd.conf for superserver and 7.x xinetd.conf and so on.
at console diferences between them it is very litle and both works
great.Atention 7.0 was about my opinion the worst distro from redhat.try 7.1 or 7.2.

7.1 uses KDE 2.1 and 2.4.2 I think...
