dial-up using slax

Iam new to linux and want to switch from windows just to try something differnt. I have the Slax software cd but haven't used it yet. I was wondering if I can use dial-up with it? I live in a rural area and can't get broadband or cable. Any help would be appreciated.

If you have a Windows/Software modem it slax may have some problems recognizing it. If you have a hardware modem then most likely "Kppp" will be able to find it. Slax is good, but if you have to load modem drivers you would have a problem since slax uses modules.

Knoppix Live CD may be better if you have a Windows modem but it would still be a hasle.

Once you find a Live CD that you can dial up with then you can easily install it to your Hard Drive...
