, the status isn't entirely clear. Which GB is the amount of data copied, and which is the amount remaining? I'm guessing the first is the amount copied.
Look at the units. They are both showing the amount transferred, one in GB (1GB = 10^9 = 1000000000), and one in GiB (1GiB = 1024^3 = 2^30 = 1073741824).

Reason: Wrong exponent
The speed of the dd command may vary based on factors such as the speed of the storage device, system resources, and the size of the partition being copied. It's no wonder that dd takes longer than specialized tools like e2image, a small world cup specifically designed for copying partitions.
