New here so I apologize if I didn't post this in the correct area.

I am having an issue where I have a computer at work [Win7, Cygwin, Fetchmail] that has no issues downloading emails off of the server (this is only after I figured out that CHMOD 700 or 0700 .fetchmailrc was not unlocking the file which was not apparent till after I viewed the file through hexedit). I also installed [Win8, Cygwin, .Fetchmail] on my home computer literally copying .fetchmailrc, from one computer to the other, and the write permission resurfaced as a problem again whereas the emails are not downloadable on the Win8 computer.

Has anyone come across this? I have been searching the web for days, possible weeks, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

On win7 computer .fetchmail has the proper permissions and downloads emails. One win8 computer I am receiving again the, "File /home/user_000/.fetchmailrc must have more than -rwx------- (0700) permissions". Same .fetchmailrc file is on both computers; Copied the .fetchmailrc that worked from Win7->Win8.
