Cross compiler errors

Hi
I was just wondering could someone give me some advice, I'm trying to set up a toolchain so that I can develop for the xscale architecture. I have have problems setting up the toolchain.
The following packages are being used
binutils-2.13.90.0.20
gcc-3.2.2
glibc-2.3.2

the binutils, bootstrap gcc and glibc install properly but when I look at the libc.so file it contains the following information

/*GNU ld script
Use the shared library but some functions are only in
the static library so try that secondarily */
***BUG in libc/scripts/output-format.sed *** elf32-bigarm, elf32-littlearm
GROUP (/home.../arm/libc.so.6 /home/..../arm/lib/libc_nonshared.a

can anyone tell me what this is about or point me in the right direction as to how to fix the problem

thanks in advance
