Creating Users in Postfix/CourierIMAP

I was wondering what the proper way to create users is using Postfix+Courier-IMAP.

All my users are just the users on the system, I just useradd them.
But they get more than just Imap, they require shell access and other stuff too so there's probably another way.

same here also .. i used to add user by the same way we add an user account to the system.

but i disable the shell login and other service. there might be another way adding a user ..

anybody please help ...
