converting avi to vcd

There is a nice tutorial at: However when I try the first command I get this error.

++ WARN: [lav2wav] Input file killbill.avi is not in JPEG 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 format
**ERROR: [lav2wav] Input file(s) have no audio, use the -r option to generate silence
**ERROR: [mp2enc] EOF in WAV header
**ERROR: [mp2enc] failure reading WAV file

It looks to me like there are different kinds of .avi files. Does anyone else know another way I can use Linux to convert an avi to a VCD compatible file?

You might want to try Linux Media: transcoding divx to svcd, vcd, cvcd etc. under Linux.

The author of the site wrote a convenient script called divx2vcd to save you some trouble.
