You can take it to someone with Windows XP and there is a built in convert utility. I would still make sure to backup any important data, but in the past I've never had any data loss. I'm not sure there's a linux utility short of copying the data somewhere else, reformatting the drive, and then copying it back.

Exact, in Win-Xp already I did it other times and never I had data losses problems. If it is possible to do it in Win-Xp, it will have to be possible in Linux!

If you don't have WindowsXP, why do you want to use the NTFS filesystem?

Thick thick. It is an external disk that utilize several people with different systems. The files of more than 4GB are truncated.

I will try to do it with a Win Vista. Linux has disappointed me in this aspect.

isnt it a bit simpler to backup all the files to another location, format the fat32 to ntfs then put back all of the idea.

Ready. I use "convert <volume>:/fs:ntfs" in Win Vista.

To write to this drive using SuSE, you will need to install the fuse and ntfs-3g packages. First modprobe the "fuse" module. Then mount the filesystem with the filetype "ntfs-3g".

Please don't resurrect ancient threads. The last post was in 2007. Also remove the spam link from your signature.

Hah, I have heard that there is new released software named NTFS to FAT32 Converter. It can easily convert NTFS to FAT32 without data losing.
I think this software can satisfy your request. And I have searched it, it has Trial Edition, you can experience its advantages in advance.
Take more information through the website, you will learn more.

apple20121314,

Please do not get into a habit of posting to threads just to attach a link to some software -- and please pay attention to the most recent date of threads & posts you reply to. One of your replies is to a thread that's been inactive for over 6 years!

Thanks & best regards.

Maybe time to re-open that discussion about locking "dead" threads ....
