Controlling Font Size on a PDF Printer

I have successfully installed a CUPS-PDF printer on Red Hat Linux. Some of my reports are 132 column reports which I want to print on letter size, portrait oriented paper. When these print directly on Laser printers, I send an escape sequence to print at 17 characters per inch. Is there something similar I can do when I create a PDF file to print in a smaller font?

Thanks, Eddie

A printer driver for PDF output will be able to scale down the whole page, but I don't know of any possibility to select text and change the font size. You will need to do the font change in the application that prints out to a PDF.
You could also try some application that is able to edit PDF-files, but modifying font sizes that way is a lot of work, unless you want change all text to the same font size.

Modifying Print Driver

I don't want to change the font within the middle of the print job... just print some jobs with 10 cpi and others with 16.5 cpi...
