connect to windows share through smb://works great in gnome explorer, lousy in KDE?

hi guys

Ive been trying this for a few weeks now with alot of frustration in KDE (konqueror) until it tried it today in gnome and it works flawlessly :-k . I am just trying to connect to a shared folder in my HTPC (running windows....i admit mythtv broke me down ). whenever i connect with konqueror i cant access the C$ shares and in the regular shares i get this annoying authorization dialog that dosent accept my valid user/password that works in windows/gnome explorer! is there any solution for this?

thx alot
