Compiling Problems

I have two problems, trying to compile krusader 1.00 and IceWM 1.09 for Mandy 8.0

1. I get the following errors/messages after doing a ./configure with krusader:
Code:
Checking for shl_unload in ldld...no
Checking for extra includes...no
Checking for libs...no
Checking for libz...configure:error:not found. Check your installation and look into config.log
I've checked file config.log, I didn't find any clues in there. What should I do know?

2. I get the following errors/messages after doing a ./configure with IceWM:
Code:
Checking for X...no
Configure:error:X Window System not found
I've got X running on the machine anyway. What's up with that?

1) You don't have zlib installed. Install the package. It's name is zlib or libz, I don't remember.
2) You don't have headers for X. It will be XFree86-devel or similar package.

While you're at it you should get the most recent update of zlib from zlib.org as a potentially dangerous flaw was discovered this week in the code. More info on this from The Register - http://www.theregus.com/content/5/24287.html

This is the project that will eat up my weekend
