Commands in Gnome (and common X programs)

I'm trying to set up keyboard shortcuts in GNOME 2.10, which involves using the configuration editor to edit /apps/metacity/global_keybindings (and keybinding_commands). The only problem is, I have no idea what the commands are for common actions, eg. logging out of GNOME with a prompt, opening the home directory, etc.

Is there a repository of such things somewhere? Searching didn't give me useful results, as I'm not even sure what to search for.

These will work in all X programs. Including Gnome and KDE(in theory... I am having issues with them right now myself, as per me trying to set up my multimedia keyboard. You can follow that thread in SuSE's section on these forums... I am hoping to find out more myself, as thus far only the AudioRaiseVol, LowerVol, and Mute work. 3 out of like 26 buttons...

But on gnome with metacity and gnome keybindings, it is suppoer to be much easier, however you will not have access to all the buttons in X, just Gnome...I am on KDE.

I'm actually looking for the commands themselves (ie. that can be executed), eg. 'xscreensaver-command -lock'.

...'gnome-session-save --kill' appears to be the command for gracefully logging out of GNOME.
