college firewall problem and webmin

right i am at collage now and they block every port apart from 80 and 443, i need to access webmin on my server but that runs on port 10000 and cant access it. i arnt looking to bypass the collage proxy and fire wall but am going to try and set up apache to help me out when i get home.

what i want to do is set up apache on my server so if i type http://myserver.org/webmin in a webbrowser it will show up port 10000 on my server, of corse this has to be done on the server side and cant just simply be a redirect. this way i will should be able to access webmin without having to use a port and just use a folder to access this.

the collage wont open that port just for me as other students may use it to gain access to public proxies.

i hope i have explained what i want to do clear anough for people to understand

thanks for any help in advance

Not an expert, but could you configure iptables to redirect any port 80 requests from your college ip address to port 10000.

i would do that but i need access to port 80 to check other things like email plus a few other things but i might have a go at doing that fo the time been, but i would prefer to do it the way i said if its possable.

or could i set up a folder on apache and set the document root of that folder the the webmin document root. im not sure if that would work though.

in any case thanks for the help

You said that they have port 443 open so run your webmin on a SSL socket thus using port 443

heres a link
