Codecs Part 2.

I never got my problem resolved! What kind of forum locks the thread before the problem is resolved? Why host a forum for people who have questions if you're not even gonna let them have their problems resolved?

What does that message mean, and how can I make videos open correctly?

Thank you,
SIR LOIN.

if you are starting a new thread for whatever reason you need to explain what your problem is, just asking "what that message means" doesn't help anyone trying to solve your problem if you don't tell us what the message is...

I did, but someone locked the old thread for no reason. THIS is the error message.

THIS is the old thread.

No reason?

In your other thread I saw a reference to automatix, a program to make life easier to download the codecs etc that do not come with Ubuntu. Another one is easyubuntu that I have used to get codecs. Search the internet and you will find it.

So now the problem is solved, go watch your porn so we can have some peace here.

Another option if you are having difficulty getting the right codecs is to use the Linux Mint distro. Its based on Ubuntu Edgy Eft and includes most proprietary codecs by default.

I found the solution to the promblem. You have to download a few extra codec packages for GStreamer - that clears the problem up mostly. You can also download a neat Firefox extension: "MediaPlayerConnectivity" to watch any movie.
