code::blocks 10.05 does not highlight code?

Hi, i'm starting to use code::blocks on my archlinux machine, and i noticed that it doesn't highlight the code, you know it doesn't put colors in the different keywords, etc. so i wanted to know if there is something you have to activate first??

Also i don'get any of code completion, and what is worse is that i get this error every time i try to build and run the code:

sh: /path/to/file : permission denied

and the file is in my desktop so i know i have the permissions to read and write, also already checked it with ls -l.

please HELP!

What kind of files are you using (extension).
Code::blocks uses so-called lexers to determin how to highlight the files. Check if there is a lexer for the type of file you're using.
And please try to read the manual.

arch linux, c++, codeblocks, highlight, programming
