I can get the CMI 8330 driver to work after I install it manually but it never works after the restart. Any help?

Unhappy Sound

I tried to use a driver supplied by the manufacture of the motherboard for that driver. One solution if you have not tried this is use ALSA, included on most distros, or download the program from, works great on soundcards, and may detect the motherboard onboard sound chip.

do you have a line in conf.modules or modules.conf that says
alias sound ......
fill in your module there.or better still in /etc/rc.d/rc.local put the line /sbin/modprobe.....
again the module for your sound.
