Your RAID-10 setup provides high availability: It enables your system to continue running in the event of a disk failure. When you see /dev/sda failing, just re-create the boot loader configuration after replacing it. When /dev/sda fails
and the system is down, use your favourite rescue mechanism e.g. a live DVD-ROM.
In short, I guess losing the boot loader is really a minor problem.
