centos 6.6 not booting after GUI install

Hello,

I just downloaded CentOS 6.6 and installed on my virtualbox on a Windows host. After installing the GUI, I can no longer boot (it's stuck at the splash screen, the bar reaches the far right and then nothing happens).
Code:
yum -y update
yum -y groupinstall "Development Tools"
yum -y groupinstall "Desktop" "X11 Window System" "Fonts" "Graphical Administration Tools"
Thanks in advance!

BTW, I can still access the cli (kernel init 3 in grub) and can login normally as root, but I don't know where to start checking.
