capture movie from camcorder

i wanna buy a camcorder, but first i wanna make sure that there is good support for capturing the video in Linux, via FireWire.

I have found an application called Kino, wich looks good. But I get a error msg when doing make...which i post in another thread.

is there any other good software like Kino for this? what would you recommend?

thanks!

try to google for "Main Actor" and the older "broadcast". I'm not sure though if Main Actor is not commercial though !
