cannot make outbound anonymous ftp connections

Hello! I have a RedHat wks 8.0 running wu-ftpd server. Incoming ftp connections (non-anonymous only) are working fine. But when I try to make outbound connections to any public ftp servers , I am getting the following error message.

ftp ftp.sun.com
Connected to supportfiles.sun.com.
421 Service not available, remote server has closed connection
No control connection for command: Illegal seek
KERBEROS_V4 rejected as an authentication type

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Try running in passive mode: "ftp -p".
