I have a package (libgnomeui-0) that I want to force to an earlier version (2.14.1-0ubuntu2 instead of 2.14.1-0ubuntu3), however Synaptic will not allow me. It allows me to select "force version" and select the version I want, but once I click ok it does nothing. There seems to be a slight change in the package list as if Synaptic is forcing the version but then forcing it back again. I need to be able to do this to install some other packages that are only compatable with the older version. How can I solve this?
