Can you update Mame roms from Linux?

Hey guys!

After googling for a while, I haven't found a way to upgrade my mame roms anywhere. I mean, you need to have Windows and run some specific software. This software runs on wine, but it doesn’t recognize mame's binary as an executable, of course. Maybe there is an answer in some dark corner of the Internet, but I haven't found it.

So if you have a way, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

I don't understand what you want. Why do you need to update mame roms ?

There are many mame ports for Linux like mame, advancemame, etc. However, I don't understand why you want to upgrade the roms.

What happens is that when you upgrade your MAME version, there are some Roms that need to be updated to that mame version, otherwise they don't work. Under Windows you have a software called CLRMAME, which does that job. I wanted to know if there was something similar under Linux. That's all

Regards.

Ah, a game emulator. Sorry, I know nothing about them.
