In a PclinuxOS LXDE 2011-09 at home, from the beggining I can play automatically music CDs, but I just installed the same at my father's home and when I insert a music CD in his PC what happens is that I get a menu with options to open the CD with Brasero or PCManFM file manager. I thought installing LXMusic Player will solve it, but again got the same options: Brasero or PCManFM.
I do not understand why I can not play automatically a music CD when inserted. How can I fix it?
Also I am curious about why in one PC this works well and in the other it doesn't. Both PC's are very old, mine with AMD Athlon 2400+ and CD unit, and his with AMD 1100 and CD/DVD unit.
Please advice. Thank you.
P.S.: I will provide feedback for suggestions to apply in one week, since I go to my father's home once a week.
I solved it installing Audacious. Now, when I insert a music CD, I obtain a menu for Audacious, Brasero, and PCManFM. Then I choose Audacious.
I did not find Media options in PCManFM. I installed Nautilus, ran it from Terminal, and found the Media option for playing inserted music CD's.
I noticed that (1) Nautilus did not appear in LXDE Desktop, and (2) when I inserted the music CD two actions were initiated, one through PCManFM with the above mentioned menu, and another from Nautilus opening the music CD.
Since I did not know how to make Nautilus prevalent and make it to appear in Desktop, I opted for the PCManFM solution with Audacious.
