can not get xpdf to print

I am using cups. I tried entering "lpr-cups" in the "print from" box. The printer simply does not respond.

I am using debian sid, and an old hp laserjet 2. I had to install foomatic-gui for the printer to work.

I am sure how ghostview would help. I am using adobe now, and it works, although that was a problem also.
