Hello.
Probably this is only a JACK bad configuration, but anyhow I don't know how to fix this problem. I have been googling a lot about this, but all I see is playingback midi files or recording from the keyboard.
if I run: amidi -l
Code:
$ amidi -l
Dir Device Name
IO hw:0,0,0 USB Keystation 88es MIDI 1
IO hw:2,0 EMU10K1 MPU-401 (UART)
IO hw:2,1 Emu10k1 Synth MIDI (16 subdevices)
IO hw:2,2 Emu10k1 Synth MIDI (16 subdevices)
the keystation is plugged by USB, and by the way I would like to put it working from MIDI cable, but not for now.
well.
So I ran: jackd -d alsa -dhw:2
Code:
$ jackd -d alsa -dhw:2
JACK compiled with System V SHM support.
loading driver ..
creating alsa driver ... hw:2|hw:2|1024|2|48000|0|0|nomon|swmeter|-|32bit
control device hw:2
configuring for 48000Hz, period = 1024 frames (21.3 ms), buffer = 2 periods
ALSA: final selected sample format for capture: 16bit little-endian
ALSA: use 2 periods for capture
ALSA: final selected sample format for playback: 16bit little-endian
ALSA: use 2 periods for playback
And ok, jack is working nice, I open whysynth and connect it from qjackctl and it works prety nicely. But what I really want is to try the Rosegarden's Banks, more exacly Korg Karma and Yamaha Motif.
So I opened the Manage MIDI Devices window and selected one, so I clicked over Banks and imported the Karma's.
Everything ok ... but I cannot ear me playing, but, in fact if I start recording, it will record, but I cannot ear anyhow.
I belive it is something as simple as selecting the right output device, but... sorry, I don't know which is, supostly it should be the IO hw:2,0 EMU10K1 MPU-401 (UART) but I don't know where to select it, and how to select eh input directly form the Keyboard.
Can you please help me?
