Can't boot MDK 9.2 due to fetal filesystem error.
I am using Mandrake LINUX 9.2. Yesturday I split my Windows Partition into two parts that is from C to C and D. And then Installed Windows XP again. After that I installed the LILO again and it boot LINUX successfully. But next time when I boot LINUX it showed following error messages during boot process.
Checking filesystems
/dev/hda7: The filesystem size (according to the superbloack) is 889591 blocks
The physical size of the device is 888831 blocks
Either the superblock or the partition table is likely to be corrupt!
/dev/hda7: UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY; RUN fsck MANUALLY.
(i-e, without -a or -p option)
Failed to check filesystems. Do you want to repair the errors? (y/n)
(Beware, You can lose data)
e2fsck 1.34 (25-jul-2003)

Abort? yes [FAILED]
***An error occurred during the file system check
***Dropping you to a shell; the System will reboot
***When you leave the shell

(Or type Control D for normal startup):
(Repair filesystem)1# fsck
Warning !!! running e2fsck on a mounted filesystem may cause SEVERE filesystem damage
Do you really want to contineou (y/n)? yes
/dev/hda5; recovering journal
/dev/hda5; clean 155442/715264 files, 647711/1427769 blocks e2fsck (25-jul-2003)
The filesystem size (according to the superbloack) is 889591 blocks
The physical size of the device is 888831 blocks
Either the superblock or the partition table is likely to be corrupt!
/dev/hda7 contains a filesystem with errors
check forced
Pass 1: Checking inodes, blocks, and sizes
Pass 2: Checking directory structure
Pass 3: Checking directory connectivity
Pass 4: Checking refrence counts
Pass 5:checking group summary information /dev/hda7: 4614/445312 files (4.3% non-contiguous), 35470/889591 blocks
(Repair filesystem) 3 # reboot
Now U saw it is unable to fix the error or I don't have any Idea to fix it. I then installed Partition Magic 8.0 in Windows and when I started it first time it informed about drive error and asked me weather to fix or not? I fix it but after doing some thing it is showing the whole harddisk as BAD Partition. Now I am able to boot XP but when ever I boot LINUX it gave above errors messages.
So what should I do now? Is there any way to restoring filesystem without destroying all partitions?
Thanks
