Can't start nessusd

I just installed Devian 3.1 from the net install cd (first time using deb, like it so far). I downloaded and installed the latest debian package of nessus. The install went fine. When I attempt to run

# /etc/init.d/nessusd start

I get

Code:

Starting Nessus : [24391] Won't allocate a pointer of size -74914225 !

From what I've read, nessus is asking for too much memory (or something similar). I've not used nessus before and wondering if anyone has seen this issue. I searched on here for it, and found a post, but no resolution was given.

I got several hits, but if you don't find an answer, join the Nessus list. Great group of people and you'll get answers directly from the authors more often than not.

I ran /opt/nessus/sbin/nessusd -R which reloaded the plugins.
Then I was able to start nessusd by running /etc/init.d/nessusd start
