can't send mails on a remote system using sendmail


i have RHEL 6.1 configured sendmail properly . but CANNOT SENDMAIL FROM MY CLIENT TO THE SERVER. all required services and daemons running well.
cannot see ports open in
#netstat -antp |grep sendmail
output.
local mail going/receiving properly.

Maybe you have a second program running.

As you are running RH6 I guess it might be postfix.

If it is running (ps -ef|grep postfix),
try stopping it with:
service stop postfix
chkconfig off postfix
