Unhappy Can't partition because "Initialize disk" screen is not given....

Hi,

Whenever I try to make a partition....a swap drive for instance, I get the error, "Could not allocate requested partitions:Partioning failed. Could not allocate partitions." I then did a Linux install on VMWARE and noticed that when it gave me the screen asking me if I wanted to initialize the drive, I of course said yes and partitioning was successful.

When I do the install on my PC, I do not get the "Initialize disk" during the installation setup....I made sure my hard drive was detected in the CMOS, I tried booting both from the Linux cd and floppy bootdisk...but to no avail.....

Does anyone know why I am not getting the "initialize disk" and screen and how can I fix it so that I do, and in the end, I can partition my drive for Rehat Linux 7.2....I'm sure I cannot partition my disk because I am not getting the "Initialize disk" screen...

Thanks..
