Hi,
I have XBMC set up, and I am running Debian Squeeze with the 2.6.32-5-amd64 kernel. I am basically on the last step (getting LIRC to work) and have been trying to do so for over a month now. I've been combing forums, the lirc home page, the man pages, etc. and now I am so fed up that I caved and came here to post this question. The remote I am using is a Rosewill RHRC-11002 with what appears to be a Formosa receiver. lsusb shows this:
Code:
Bus 004 Device 002: ID 147a:e03e Formosa Industrial Computing, Inc. Infrared Receiver [IR605A/Q]
And modprobe shows the following:
Code:
allen@tornado:/usr/src/modules/lirc-modules$ sudo modprobe -l | grep lirc
misc/lirc_mceusb2.ko
misc/lirc_mceusb.ko
misc/lirc_dev.ko
misc/lirc_serial.ko
As I understand it, I merely need to install lirc and lirc-modules-source, then reconfigure lirc-modules-source, add a hardware.conf file and run irw to see if pressing the buttons actually does anything. That doesn't work. I've tried tons of other things and can't get it to work either. I would list them all, but by now I've kind of lost track of them and that might get confusing. Is there a lirc guru out there that can help me get this working?
