Thanks. Just needed to re-iterate a solution to an issue I repeatedly encountered when running configure for compiling simple-mtpfs
If you see

Quote:
../configure: line 4159: syntax error near unexpected token `FUSE,'
../configure: line 4159: `PKG_CHECK_MODULES(FUSE, fuse >= 2.7.3)'
you probably need to run these 2 commands first before running ../configure

Code:
sudo apt-get install pkg-config
and then

Code:
./autogen.sh

I've never personally had to deal with my Android in this manner, just plug it in and my file manager accesses it. No Problems whatsoever.

The one issue I have with simple-mtpfs, which essentially allows you to treat your MTP device as a mass storage device, is that any changes you make on your camera, new photos etc, aren't reflected in the mounted camera volume you see. It doesn't seem to be a 'live' solution.

But perhaps I am doing something wrong?

When a new photo or video is taken, I need to see that on the desktop mounted volume. Is there a solution?

Refresh your file manager for that directory/folder.

Nope. Refreshing the mounted camera folder does not reflect changes on the actual camera. What seems to be necessary is after any change on the camera, unmount then remount it to the desktop
