can't attach to DCOP server from remote machine

Hi,
I was trying to write a little utility for my Konsole shell. The utitliy runs fine from my local machine, but if I log into my machine using rsh from some other machine, the utility gives error with dcop.

[acheema@canopus ~]$ dcop
ERROR: Couldn't attach to DCOP server!

[acheema@canopus ~]$ dcop --user acheema
WARNING: Cannot determine home directory for user acheema!
Please check permissions or set the $DCOPSERVER variable manually before
calling dcop.
ERROR: No active KDE sessions!
If you are sure there is one, please set the $DCOPSERVER variable manually
before calling dcop.

What is the problem? Looks like I need to set some variables for KDE session. I'm using
KDE 3.1.3 on red hat. Thnx in advance.
