browse file system

Hi all

I have Nautilus installedd, is there some thing the same that can browse as super user ( root ), so i'm able to change permissons and groups and so on.

I need to have my user access var/www and be able to write to that directory.

The preferred way to change permissions and such would be in a terminal ( as root)---Using a GUI as root is not recommended.

You CAN start Nautilus (or any application) as root from a terminal.....

no problems installing MC here, if you are after a GUI filemanager stick with what you have, as pixellany said you can run Nautilus as root if needed...
